Acupuncture Advertising - Necessary or Not?

March 14th, 2009

Advertising ones new or previously established acupuncture practice is necessary to help spread the word far and wide that you are available to treat patients. Although one’s background is in acupuncture and/or Chinese Medicine as a practitioner new to private practice it is necessary to learn how to best inform the public that you are now taking on new patients so they can seek you out for your services. Without this type of exposure the unwanted alternative is to have an idle practice where you spend time waiting and wanting to treat patients instead of actively doing so and successfully treating patients.

For starters, for any acupuncturist who is going to do any advertising at all you must know what it at stake. When one examines what is at stake you realize that what you have to lose out on is ones “practice’s positioning.” Practice positioning determines that you will either let you get ahead or have you fall behind. Position yourself right with an effective advertising campaign and you get ahead, patients are attracted to you and your practice, your phone is ringing, and you are more busy than not. Position yourself poorly and people are simply not attracted to your practice because your advertising and/or marketing is not effective.

What this means is that you need to do things right directly from the start, right out of the gate. If you are lucky then you will be reading this while you are still in school or months before you open your practice so you can successfully launch your practice. If you are already established and have some practice materials together

To help publicize your practice takes money. And when you don’t have the background or know-how to publicize your practice the right way this means that you risk your limited capital investment into a possible pricey campaign that can back fire and at worst make you look bad when done wrong. So as you can tell to not investigate the best way to advertise ones practice is a risky proposition just because of all that is involved.

So do yourself and your future a favor and carefully investigate what you need to know to successfully help yourself to effectively advertise your practice:
